Clifton died peacefully on Easter evening, April 4, at his home in McMinnville, Oregon at the age of 96 with his daughter, Shirley and Granddaughter, Rainy by his side.

The son of Orlando Ray and Norah Gentry Reynolds, Clifton was born on March 25, 1914 at Bachelor Flat, Oregon. He attended school in the St. Helens area.

He married Helen Woolstenhulme on February 14, 1936 in Vancouver, Washington and they made their first home in St. Helens, Oregon. During WWII he moved his young family to Seattle to live while he served in the Navy at the Bremerton Naval Station repairing aircraft. In 1950 they moved to Sheridan, Oregon where he and Helen raised their four children. He and Helen were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in the summer of 1954. In 1970 they moved to McMinnville with their youngest son.

He worked as an electrician at the Willamina US Plywood Mill from the early 1950’s until his retirement.

Clifton was a man of tremendous faith and served his Heavenly Father and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in many callings. He loved doing genealogy and kept meticulous records throughout his life. He took great interest in people’s ethnicities and studied the Spanish language up to his death. When his son, Tim went on his mission to Mexico and his grandson, Ryan, to Russia, you could find him studying and learning the languages.

He was a man of many talents. He loved art and music. He played many musical instruments and taught and encouraged his family to participate in “jamming” with him and each other. He was a member of the Old Time Fiddler’s Association and loved to go to the Senior Center to listen when they played there. He had a great sense of humor and always gave you a good laugh when you were in his presence. He was a loyal, hardworking, kind, loving, tolerant man. His family and faith were the most important things in his life and he paid close attention to both.

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Holstad of Tillamook, OR; son, Daniel Reynolds and his wife Jan, of Dallas, OR; son, Timothy Reynolds and his wife, Marie of Pleasant Grove, UT; his brothers, Clyde Reynolds and wife, Rosalee of Weston, OR and John LeRoy Reynolds and wife, Sharon of Tacoma, WA. He had 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen, his oldest daughter, Eleanor Kimsey, great grandsons, Levi Baker and Justice Fockler, as well as two sisters and one brother.
