Potty Training, again...

Well Madelyn has decided she doesn't like being dirty and runs to the bathroom every time she needs to pee or poop. She freaks out completely if she has to poop or if she goes in her diaper. I'm thankful that she wants to go potty on the toilet but I had forgot how nasty potty training is. She could sit on the toilet all day if I let her. Usually she'll go a little in the toilet, then stand up and pee more on the floor. We first tried the little toilet chair, that Andrew trained on, but if there was anything "yucky" in it, she wouldn't go anymore. She'd want me to clean it out. Now we've moved on to using her little Dora toilet seat that fits on the big potty and I can just flush anything "yucky" down so she can continue her task.
In other news, we're excited to start a garden in the back and get our backyard in order. Andrew talks about all the things we're going to grow, he's so excited. He can't wait for "Jack Frost to leave for good," so we can plant our seeds. His great grandma (Nana) educated him about Jack Frost and how he bites your toes and hands, which Andrew takes very literally.
This weekend Nick and I are hosting my sister's soon to be in laws from Italy. So needless to say I've been a little anxious to get our house in order and get things cleaned up around here. It's hard to clean everything up, considering the kids are right behind me undoing everything I do.The big huge belly doesn't help either. There's so much going on from now until this baby comes that I feel like I'm in a whirlwind.
I don't know if I mentioned it before but Nick's company had more layoffs and made everyone take paycuts. I've also stopped watching Hailey, Isaak, and Elsie full time so our budget has taken a huge hit. I'm still doing consulting and hope they will let me continue to do that if I don't really take a break when the baby comes. It's only 4 hrs a week but gives us about $400/month. Which is a lot for us right now, with all the pay cuts. I feel really blessed that Nick and I still have jobs and that we've been helped out so much from my Nana and Nick's dad. They each come over once a week and sit while the kids nap and I'm at work. I'm hoping this little guy is laid back and I can get him on the same schedule so I can still work and not put anyone out. That's a lot to hope for, so we'll see how everything works out!
I hope everyone is doing well!

Yay for potty training, that's so exciting that she wants to go on her own. And getting a garden started is always thrill and the anticipation for things to grow is even better. You'll love it. Everything will go well with the "kind-of" in-laws, your home is beautiful, they'll definitely enjoy their stay. I'm so sorry about Nicks job, that always stinks. I hope everything works out for you guys, especially this pregnancy. Take care of yourself. Call me if you need to talk. Love ya!
